Vogue Fem Classes (Utrecht Ballroom Scene)

Voguing emerged from the ballroom culture in Harlem, New York from the 1960s throughout the 1980s. Ballroom culture was originally created by the Black and Latino LGBTQ-community to create a safe space in which they could freely express themselves and feel a sense of belonging. Vogue Fem was created by trans women in the ballroom community as a performance category in which they could express their femininity more than in Old Way and New Way. In Vogue Fem, there are five elements: catwalk, duckwalk, floor performance, hands, and spins & dips.‍

Since 2020, our weekly Vogue Fem classes have been taught by Typhoon, Legendary European Father of the House of Basquiat, and Legendary Founding Father of the Kiki House of Angels. On October 7th, we have a Beginners class from 19:00-20:00, followed by an Advanced class from 20:00-21:00.
